Department of Social Work was   established in the Year 1976 and later renamed in 1992 as D.K. Shinde School of Social Work as an independent Department of CSIBER, Kolhapur with well qualified and Experienced  Faculty . Ours is a  two-year, full-time MSW program  which offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to excel in the field of social work. With a total of 98 credits spread over four semesters, you'll delve deep into various specializations, including:

• Human Resource Management and Labour Welfare
• Urban and Rural Community Development
• Medical and Psychiatric Social Work

What sets our MSW program apart is our unique pedagogical approach, which combines classroom teaching with hands-on fieldwork. This blend of theoretical learning and practical application allows you to master core concepts while gaining real-world experience. Throughout the program, you'll work closely with various stakeholders of society, including hospitals, NGOs, government agencies, and industry partners. We also co-ordinates with various social organizations, social welfare departments and NGOs for undertaking different activities related to welfare and research.

To further enrich your learning experience, we organize rural camps and industrial tours, providing you with first hand exposure to a diverse range of social issues and challenges. These immersive experiences not only deepen your understanding of community dynamics but also foster empathy, cultural competence, and social responsibility.
