Poster Competition on World Environment Day held at CSIBER
On June 5, 2023, the Department of Environment Management, CSIBER and Kolhapur Municipal Corporation jointly observed World Environmental Day. The program's goal was to increase environmental awareness and encourage people to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
The theme of the year was "Beat Plastic Pollution" and a poster competition was organised for students. The sub-themes of the competition were Plastic Pollution, One Earth, Save the Earth, Sustainable Development, Use of Renewable Energy Sources, Water and Air Pollution, Waste Management, etc. A total of 40 students showed up for the event, and 37 of them participated by creating posters on the above-mentioned themes.
Dr. Sameer Vasant Vyaghrambhare, Superintendent of Environment and Parks for the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation, Mr. Keval Sunil Lot, Assistant Superintendent of Environment for the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation, Mr. Ram Chavan, and Dr. V. S. Salokhe, Administrative Officers, CSIBER, Kolhapur, were among the guests who were welcomed by Dr. A. R. Kulkarni, Head of the Department of Environment Management at CSIBER, Kolhapur.
Dr. V. S. Salokhe and Shri Sameer Vasant Vyaghrambhare launched the poster presentation competition. Students displayed 25 posters, some of which were created individually and others in groups of two to four. Each student gave the visitor and audience an explanation of the posters' themes. Mr. Sameer Vyaghrambhare praised the students' work and suggested improvements for clearer comprehension. The competition's judges were Mr. Sameer Vyaghrambhare and Mrs. Priya Shaha, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, CSIBER, Kolhapur. The first three winners of the poster competition were chosen by the judges unanimously.
During the conclusion of the programme, certificates were awarded to the winners and participants. Er. D. S. Mali took the initiative to organise the programme, while Dr. Pooja Patil oversaw its execution. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Pooja Patil to the judges, guests, and students from Kolhapur Municipal Corporation.
Dr. S. P. Rath, Director, CSIBER, Kolhapur, Hon. Dr. R. A. Shinde, Secretory Managing Trustee, Hon. CA. H. R. Shinde, Trustee, Teaching, Non-Teaching members of the Department, and Students were the audience of the program. The poster exhibition was open for the audience for the entire day where the thoughts, views, and solution of the participating students drawn on each poster was highly appreciated by everyone.
