M.Sc. Computer Science students of Tuljaram Chaturchand College undergo practical educational tour at CSIBER

Chhatrapati Shahu Institute of Business Education and Research (CSIBER), is an autonomous institute under the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Shivaji University, and it holds a unique reputation for excellence in higher education. Re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC] with an "A+" grade and marked as a College with Potential of Excellence (CPE), that has positioned CSIBER as the lighthouse of academic brilliance.

On 9th February 2024, the School of Computer Science & Applications of CSIBER conducted an educational visit for students pursuing M.Sc. Computer Science from Tuljaram Chaturchand College, Baramati. Under the pattern of National Education Policy (NEP), students undergo an On-the-Job Training (OJT). Fifteen Postgraduate students, along with Principal, Prof. Dr. Avinash S. Jagtap, discharged this social responsibility. The visit was organized under the dynamic deanship of Dr. S.D. Bhoite, In-Charge, Dean, School of Computer Science & Applications of CSIBER.

The M.Sc. Course in Computer Science is designed to produce skilled professionals in major areas of Computer Science. The course curriculum is designed to meet basic and advanced subjects under the current trends in Computer Science Research and Development. The programme also focuses on developing students according to modern business requirements with respect to knowledge and skills in Information Technology (IT) sectors.

The major objective of the educational visit is to make some relevance of theoretical knowledge and practical application. The students of Tuljaram Chaturchand College could see and appreciate actual IT scenarios where the learning in the classroom can be converted into actions in the workplace. It is an idyllic learning for acquiring the capabilities that the recent job market demands.

During this visit, the students were also accustomed to the varied job prospects for an M.Sc. in Computer Science Graduate. It was discussed that such graduates can pursue careers in the field as software engineers, web designers, mobile app developers, software testers, database administrators, and data analysts. The industrial visit also demonstrated how studies performed in the lab lead to real jobs.

To conclude, the study visit to CSIBER turned out to be a big milestone after the integration of the academic learning process with practical experience. It reiterated the commitment of the institute to imparting quality education and increasing employability in the IT sector. The coordination between CSIBER and Tuljaram Chaturchand College is one such example amongst the list of various academic affiliations that can be helpful for the student's professional growth and development.
