Bridging Theory with Practice: CSIBER’s MSW-II students Transformative Industrial Study Tour in Bangalore and Mysore

The CSIBER Trust's D.K. Shinde School of Social Work orchestrated a transformative Industrial Study Tour for MSW-II students specializing in Human Resource Management & Labor Welfare, spanning the vibrant industrial landscapes of Bangalore and Mysore. With the guiding principle of "Education – Exposure – Experience," the tour aimed to seamlessly merge classroom theory with practical industry dynamics, fostering holistic growth in students' professional personas.

The tour's primary objective was to narrow the chasm between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, instilling invaluable intangible changes in students' outlooks. Through immersive visits to renowned multinational corporations, students delved into the heart of industrial operations, witnessing firsthand the intricacies of machinery, workstations, assembly lines, and systems. Guided by seasoned industry experts, they gleaned insights into diverse organizational functions spanning Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, and Logistics.

Venturing into esteemed companies such as United Breweries Ltd., Amrut Distilleries Private Limited, Mysore Polymers & Rubber Products Pvt. Ltd. (Mypol), Rangsons Aerospace Private Limited, and Doddabetta Tea Factory, students were immersed in a rich tapestry of industrial practices and processes. Each visit provided a unique lens into the multifaceted realms of Human Resource Management, shedding light on crucial facets like Recruitment & Selection, Performance Management Systems, Training & Development, Career Planning, Rewards & Recognition, Compensation & Benefits, Policy Formulation, Industrial Relations, Employee Engagement, and Health & Safety protocols.

Moreover, students were privy to comprehensive job descriptions, spanning from Trainee HR to HR Business Partner roles, offering a panoramic view of career trajectories within the HR domain. Through engaging interactions with HR professionals, they gained practical insights into administrative and non-administrative functions, legal compliance, and strategic HR planning.

The tour, meticulously coordinated by Dr. Durgesh N. Valvi and Dr. S.S. Apate, proved to be a pivotal milestone in the academic journey of all 57 participating students. It served as a transformative crucible, refining their understanding of HR management while fortifying their professional acumen. Armed with newfound knowledge, practical experiences, and a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of industrial dynamics, students emerged poised to navigate the complexities of the corporate landscape with confidence.
