The MCA program is a mix of information technology and its application areas. The Information technology covers wide variety of theoretical computer science and associated technologies. Whereas application areas varies from business to Artificial Intelligence. The emphasis while framing curriculum is on the theoretical computer science and application areas. This is achieved through hands on practical sessions and the mini and major projects in each semester. Eligibility conditions and requirements for admissions for admission to MCA (As per CET Cell, Government of Maharashtra, 2019):
The candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
The candidate should be an Indian National;
Passed minimum three year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by University recognised by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (at least 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only)
Studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at (10+2) level or at Graduate level examination;
(Candidates appearing for final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to appear for CET)

What is M.C.A?
M.C.A. Master of Computer Application is three year full time post graduate program run by different universities in India.
What are the eligibility criteria for MCA courses?
The eligibility criteria is decided by DTE, Mumbai for MCA program in Maharashtra state.
Eligibility Criteria for MAH MCA CET :
The candidate should be an Indian National;
The candidate must be a Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks in any discipline from a recognized university.
For PWD and Reserved category candidates belonging to Maharashtra, the minimum cutoff in Graduation is 45%
The candidate must have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at (10+2) level or in Graduation
For Direct second year admission, the candidate should have passed Bachelor Degree in Computer Applications or Science (Information Technology or Computer Science)
For Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries and Foreign Nationals the eligibility is:
The candidate must be a Graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent from a University recognised by UGC or Association of Indian Universities

What is the admission procedure for selection to MCA courses?
MAH MCA CET Process
STEP 1: MAH MCA CET application process
Application forms for MAH MCA CET will be made available online on the scheduled date. Interested candidates can download the forms from the DTE, Maharashtra website.
STEP 2: MAH MCA CET admit card
MAH MCA CET admit card will be made available for download from the scheduled date. The candidates can download their admit cards from the official website of DTE Maharashtra.
STEP 3: MAH MCA CET
MAH MCA CET will be conducted in online mode. The question paper will consist of 50 Multiple Choice Questions to be answered in stipulated time.
STEP 4: MAH MCA CET results
The MAH MCA CET results will be declared in May. The results will be available on the official website of DTE Maharashtra and the test takers will be able to download their results by using their login credentials.
STEP 5: MAH MCA CET Counselling
For counselling or the centralized admission process, the candidates will be required to fill a separate form which will be available in the month of May.
