A Guest Lecture on Child Rights Commission and the role of youth in prevention and protection of children was held at CSIBER. The event began with the distinguished Dr. Suresh Apte taking the stage and welcoming the esteemed Hon'ble Adv. Sushilaben Shah as the chief guest. The dignitaries were honored with saplings and a book on the revered Mahatma Gandhi by Dr. D.M. Bhosale was also released during the event.
Hon'ble Adv. Sushilaben Shah, Chairperson of the Maharashtra State Child Rights Commission, addressing MSW students, spoke on the role of the youth in safeguarding children's rights, and provided examples of child exploitation. She stressed the importance of creating awareness in society to be more sensitive for addressing such issues.
The Child Rights Commission has established a helpline for children to report incidents of abuse, but the rising incidence of child abuse necessitates further action to address developmental issues affecting children. Mr. Chaitanya Purandare, Member of the Child Rights Commission, spoke on the use of digital systems to protect children's rights.
The event was organized by District Women and Child Development Officer, Smt. Shilpa Patil, and Mr. Shekhar Teli, and was attended by various dignitaries, committee members, professors, and students. The Vote of Thanks was extended by Dr. Durgesh Valvi.
